BwCCS is open to all students who are eligible to enroll in New York City public schools in September 2010. There are no financial or academic requirements for admission to BwCCS. State law requires that we provide a preference to siblings of current students and residents of District 14. The school holds two lotteries: one for in-district residents and another for out-of-district residents.

Because of limited space, applicants to all grades other than Kindergarten are automatically placed on a wait list.  Families on the wait list are contacted as space becomes available.

If a child's name is selected via the in-district lottery for admission, parents will have to provide at registration, one of the following documents to prove their in-district residence:

Accepted Documents Valid Date for Document
A residential utility bill (gas or electric) in the resident’s name issued by National Grid, Con Edison or the Long Island Power Authority Within 30 days prior to lottery

Document on letterhead from federal, state or city agency
– including City Housing Authority or the Human Resources Administration – which states home address
Within 30 days prior to lottery

Official payroll documentation from an employer such as a form submitted for   tax withholding purposes or a payroll  receipt.

Within 30 days prior to lottery

An original lease agreement, deed or mortgage statement for the residence

Any date

A current property tax bill for the residence

Must cover time period including date of lottery

A water bill for the residence
